NEBTEK Color Exposure View is a whole different way of looking at Exposure Measurement. CEV allows for a visual look at exposure in the frame without referencing a scope. This is a carefully calibrated expo sure measurement tool that requires an understanding of exposure and video waveforms as calibrated to IRE units. Usually, when shooting subjects like faces and skin tones , it is normal to set exposure of faces to approximately 56 IRE. The CEV function will show this range in pink on the monitor. Green is used to indicat elements of the image that are approximately 45 IRE. This represents a Mid tone exposure used for objects. So as you increase exposure, your subject will change color as indicated on the chart: pink, then grey, then a few shades of yellow then orange. Overexposed subjects (above 101 IRE) on the monitor are shown as red. Under exposed areas will show as dark blue to deep blue, with clipped-blacks indicated with a purple color.
